As part of its partnership with the Foundation for Housing for the Disadvantaged, Plateau Urbain supported the Lucusta collective.

As part of Montpellier-Sète’s bid to become a European Capital of Culture, the Villa Salis site on the slopes of Mont Saint-Clair was identified as a potential location for a community-based artist residency led by the Lucusta collective. Although Montpellier-Sète did not win this European competition, the commitment to developing the project remains strong.

Plateau Urbain was commissioned by the Foundation for Housing for the Disadvantaged to assist the collective in defining and bringing to fruition an ambitious project combining a residency for filmmakers in exile, training in film-related professions, a social integration hotel, a solidarity restaurant, and socially engaged cultural programming. Over the course of several months, Plateau Urbain supported the collective in formalizing the project, creating a model for it, and planning its various phases of implementation and long-term sustainability.
