As part of the redevelopment of National Route 10 and the urban renewal of the city center, the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Urban Community and the City of Trappes sought to launch a transitional urban planning initiative to support these large-scale transformations.
The project consists of two phases: first, identifying sites suitable for temporary uses to develop an action plan for the city center; and second, conducting forward-looking analysis on the future use of the three open spaces created by the relocation of the national highway underground.
Set to be delivered “bare” by 2028, these major public spaces offer a unique opportunity to recreate an urban fabric where the highway once divided the area. The transitional phase thus becomes a laboratory for restoring urban continuity and testing future uses for these new living spaces.
