Organization and facilitation of a seminar and workshops to equip the city and the metropolitan area to develop transitional urban planning projects in NPNRU neighborhoods

Following the seminar “Transitional Urban Planning: A Practice in Service of Urban Transition and Economic Activity” led by Plateau Urbain in January 2022, the City of Angers and the Angers Loire Métropole Community wished to continue the discussion and receive support regarding the emergence of transitional occupation projects aligned with this approach. Four sites—and/or themes—have emerged within two NPNRU neighborhoods: Belle-Beille and Monplaisir.

Following this initial phase of identifying key issues and fostering a shared understanding among elected officials and technical staff from the City, the Urban Community, and key local stakeholders, Plateau Urbain is offering rapid, on-site support for each of the identified topics to help partners agree on a shared vision and formalize an operational action plan for the short-term activation of these spaces. Four workshop days were thus organized: three of them aimed at facilitating the emergence of transitional urban planning projects in these neighborhoods, and a closing day dedicated to measuring the impact of the initiated projects.
