Supporting a child welfare organization in taking over the management of a youth center open to the public
2026

As part of its partnership with the Foundation for Housing for the Disadvantaged, Plateau Urbain supported Le Lieu.

The nonprofit Le Lieu supports young people who have been excluded from traditional support systems. It acquired a house with the goal of turning it into a welcoming space and refuge for young people, as well as a place open to the public through partnerships for cooking workshops, performances, shared spaces, and more.

Once the program has been established by the young people, Plateau Urbain supports Le Lieu in the operational implementation of the project’s various components: housing for minors, mixed uses and diverse user groups, as well as the conditions for admission and the degree to which the building’s various floors are open to the public.

This support, provided in collaboration with the young people supported by the association, combines immersive visits to inspiring sites that share similarities in programming and mixed-use approaches. The methodology has been adapted to engage not only education and social work professionals but also the young people and their families, notably through a custom-designed role-playing exercise and interactive workshops.
