The Social and Solidarity Housing Fair was born out of the initiative of stakeholders committed to transforming the social housing landscape in France. About ten organizations brought together some fifty stakeholders to create KISS: a unique, free event that unites a diverse group of committed stakeholders dedicated to making land an extremely valuable tool for addressing economic, ecological, and societal challenges, thereby fulfilling a mission of public interest. KISS’s ambition is to mobilize citizens, businesses, and public authorities through an annual gathering to meet, debate, build connections, and draw inspiration to amplify our impact and make our activities a lever for social justice, solidarity, and social innovation.
With nearly 50 booths, participants were able to discover innovative projects and exchange ideas with key players in the sector, ranging from local grassroots efforts to national initiatives. KISS was also an opportunity to forge connections, collaborate, and discuss socially responsible real estate projects.
• The day centered on three major conferences addressing key issues in social and solidarity-based housing: the connections between citizens, businesses, and the public sector in creating shared spaces; the role of solidarity-based housing in shaping new visions for rural areas; and the frameworks for developing solidarity-based housing cooperatives.
• In parallel, and to offer a variety of formats, nine hands-on workshops in small groups provided opportunities for learning and discussion on a range of topics.
True to the spirit of a fair, the event featured games and activities accessible to everyone, and concluded with a festive evening featuring DJ sets, offering a fun and friendly atmosphere for all participants.
KISS was designed to be an annual event! This first edition will serve as a springboard for next year! We invite all interested organizations to reach out to us to help organize the next edition and co-create the KISS of tomorrow with us.
