The Plateau Urbain cooperative brings together members from diverse backgrounds organized into five groups: employees, residents, experts, partners, and financial supporters. These members are involved in the cooperative’s governance and collectively hold its equity capital. People who are part of the Plateau Urbain cooperative are referred to interchangeably as members, associates, or cooperative members.
Committed to transitional urban planning, Plateau Urbain is a cooperative society of collective interest (SCIC). This legal structure enables various individuals and entities—both private and public—to come together around a shared project that combines local development and social impact with the economic efficiency of a business.

For Aquitanis, temporary occupancy represents an additional offering in the management of hybrid spaces that benefits the Bordeaux metropolitan area. It also serves to develop and promote new capabilities within the organization: increased collaboration with emerging project leaders, as well as greater creativity and user involvement in project management. Involvement in the SCIC Plateau Urbain helps anchor this partnership for the long term and contributes to fostering experiences in temporary and transitional occupancy.
Adrien Gros
Director of Urban Planning at Aquitanis, member of the Plateau Urbain cooperative – 2021
For the Caracol team, SCIC Plateau Urbain is a collaborative network of diverse and complementary stakeholders. A space and time for possibilities and encounters that fosters synergies and conveys messages about new ways of “building a city.” When Plateau Urbain invited us to join the SCIC, it was a natural choice—professionally, personally, and philosophically.
This commitment is further embodied in the concrete manifestation of our complementary strengths: the Village Reille. A true laboratory of “working together.”

Development Manager at the Caracol Association – 2020
In the real estate sector, some organizations follow parallel paths that are essential to their mission. This is the case with Plateau Urbain. For Villages Vivants, becoming a member of the SCIC was a natural step to reaffirm shared values, such as cooperative ambition, mixed-use development, and the preservation of existing heritage… Among like-minded real estate stakeholders, whether in rural or urban settings, we want to share our expertise, our experiences with local communities, our ambitions, our models, and—why not one day—our projects. Excellent reasons to become a member!
Raphaël Boutin
Co-manager of Villages Vivants – 2020
