Feasibility study on the temporary use of a former auto repair shop prior to renovation, and support for selecting a project leader to develop a prototype for a future book-themed third place

In March 2021, the City of Le Bouscat, Bordeaux Métropole, and La Fabrique de Bordeaux Métropole (La Fab) launched a competition to select a real estate operator partnered with a team of architects and urban planners to carry out a housing and commercial development project as part of the conversion of the former Peugeot garage in Le Bouscat. The winner of this competition is the Lamotte Group in partnership with Atlantic Aménagement, with the collaboration of architect Jacques Boucheton.

To preview the future third place—centered on books and publishing—that will be established on the ground floor of Avenue de la Libération, La Fab, the Lamotte Group, and the City of Le Bouscat wish to make part of the site available to cultural organizations. Plateau Urbain is studying the technical feasibility of adapting and securing a space within the former concession. A call for expressions of interest aims to identify one or more project leaders who will bring this brownfield site to life before construction begins.
