PRESS RELEASE FROM PLATEAU URBAIN

Burglaries, thefts, vandalism, and racist threats at the Arches Citoyennes

Paris, September 9, 2025

During the night of Saturday, September 6, to Sunday, September 7, several offices of Les Arches Citoyennes were targeted by break-ins, thefts, and vandalism. Racist graffiti and written death threats were also discovered.

The criminal investigation unit and forensic team arrived on Sunday to document the scene and gather evidence to advance the investigation.

In response to these reprehensible acts, the Plateau Urbain cooperative and its teams immediately strengthened security at the site. A permanent security presence has been established, access codes have been updated, and instructions for heightened vigilance have been issued to all tenant organizations.

This is the first time Plateau Urbain has faced this type of incident at the sites it manages. We strongly condemn these acts and expressions of hatred. We sincerely hope that the investigation will quickly identify and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Plateau Urbain reaffirms its commitment to continuing its mission: to welcome a wide range of people to its spaces, to create environments that foster social and cultural diversity, and to offer programming open to everyone.
