This year, more than ever, we reaffirm our commitment to combating real estate waste. In France, vast amounts of space remain vacant, while many individuals and organizations struggle to access a real estate market that remains largely unaffordable and insufficiently inclusive. The construction of new office space has exacerbated an already saturated market, often providing spaces ill-suited to current needs. Furthermore, as a major consumer of energy and materials, the real estate sector is undergoing a profound structural crisis and must rethink itself in the face of the gradual depletion of our planet’s resources.
Working with existing structures, proposing new uses, extending the life of buildings and materials while welcoming those who need it most into community spaces—this has been the mission of the Plateau Urbain cooperative for over 10 years. In 2025, its purpose remains unchanged, and all members of the cooperative will be mobilized to fulfill it
By repurposing vacant spaces, promoting reuse, and developing socially oriented projects, the cooperative is committed to sustainably advancing the vision of a more accessible, circular, and equitable city.
We wish a wonderful 2025 to all those who envision, build, and take action for a more inclusive city.
