What We’re Offering

The Plateau Urbain cooperative is calling for applications for office, workshop, and basement spaces as part of a temporary occupancy project near the Jaurès metro station (Paris 19th arrondissement). Apply on the platform!

The spaces are being offered pending the start of renovation work to convert the building into public housing, for an estimated duration of 18 months. The goal is to foster a collective dynamic that encourages interaction, mutual support, and knowledge sharing. The building is located in the heart of a residential neighborhood, in close proximity to residents whose peace and quiet must be respected. Therefore, activities open to the public and those generating significant disturbances cannot be accommodated within the project.

The proposed spaces

> Spaces on the floors

Workspaces for office activities, artist studios, and light crafts are available across the building’s 10 floors. The spaces on each floor are more or less partitioned and include many rooms larger than 50 m². Partitioned offices range from 5 to over 150 m². These spaces can be shared among multiple organizations. Since small partitioned spaces are rarer, we recommend opting for shared spaces if your activity allows it. It is also possible to partition your space at your own expense and with the prior approval of the Plateau Urbain technical team.

> Basement Spaces

Unlit spaces for storage or workshops are available on the three basement levels. These spaces vary in size, ranging from 18 m² to 305 m². The larger ones can be shared. The basements have an elevator, but there is no freight elevator.

> Parking

Parking spaces are also available in the basement in a shared parking lot. A fee of €80/month will be charged to occupy one of these spaces.

Who is this for

This call for applications is open to artists, associations, cultural organizations, and entities from the social and solidarity economy, as well as startups and independent professionals seeking affordable workspaces to develop their activities and creativity. Organizations joining the project will thus thrive in a rich and stimulating ecosystem thanks to the diversity of participants, activities, and professions represented.

The spaces offered are billed at different rates depending on the organization’s profile and the project leaders’ resources. We aim to make these spaces accessible to as many people as possible: this call for applications is open to organizations and projects in the fields of associations, the arts, crafts, culture, and the social and solidarity economy.

For organizations with greater resources, a “support” rate has been established; details can be found in this document.

Rates

Depending on the type of space (office-workshops/basements), different fee levels apply.

> Spaces on upper floors and the ground floor

Member rate: €20/m²/month, all utilities included Non-member
rate: €21/m²/month, all utilities included

> Basement spaces

Member rate: €9/sq. ft./month, all utilities included Non-member
rate: €9.45/sq. ft./month, all utilities included

How to apply?

• Applications accepted until June 13, 2024, on the Plateau Urbain platform
• Group tours and individual interviews will take place between June 17 and 21, 2024, by registration via the form. Please note that this form will only be sent after the application period closes (June 13) and only to organizations that have applied.
• Notification via email regarding the acceptance of your application on July 8, 2024.
• Move-in and key handover on July 12, 2024.
