We are pleased to announce that Plateau Urbain is among the signatories of an op-ed published in *Libération* on November 6, 2025: “A new, fairer, and more inclusive housing sector is possible—let’s build it together!”
This open letter, addressed to candidates in the municipal elections, highlights the urgent need to rethink real estate and land policies so that they serve the public interest. The authors condemn real estate speculation, which drives many residents away from downtown areas and contributes to growing inequality.
As a socially responsible real estate organization, Plateau Urbain has been working for several years to:
Purchase and repurpose vacant commercial spaces, housing units, and other vacant properties for collective and inclusive purposes,
Offer affordable rents and long-term leases,
Mobilize real estate for the public good and social diversity,
Revitalize city centers and support independent businesses.
Alongside other solidarity-based real estate organizations and committed associations, we share a common vision: to put real estate back at the service of the real needs of residents and communities. This op-ed is also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to building more inclusive and solidarity-based cities and towns.
📅 Join us at Kiss, the social and solidarity-based real estate fair, on November 27, 2025, in Césure (Paris 5th arrondissement), to meet industry stakeholders and collectively reflect on reclaiming land for the public good.
Together, let’s make real estate a tool in the service of solidarity and social justice.
