NEWS FROM THE PAMPA

Since May 9, a building in Cachan has been gradually coming to life beneath the city’s aqueducts! Fifty project leaders have set up shop at La Pampa, Plateau Urbain’s new project in southern Paris!

As in every third place run by the cooperative, the collective is at the heart of the occupants’ daily lives. Roundtables and workshops to choose the venue’s name, welcome drinks and BBQs to bring everyone together, photography workshops, Pilates classes, planning workshops with the Cachan City Hall and Commune Mesure… All these informal gatherings act as a catalyst for shared projects.

The shared garden, a true oasis of greenery nestled against the building, is brimming with initiatives led by the occupants—including the creation of a vegetable garden and a compost bin—and has been transformed into a fully-fledged communal space.

So for nearly three months now, artisans, ceramicists, painters, set designers, media professionals, young landscape architecture and urban planning firms, associations, dance and theater companies, and many others have been working and bringing La Pampa to life every day, transforming an empty building into a vibrant third place.
