BOB is a third place where cultural, circular, community-driven, and social projects take shape. It is a resource hub for experimenting with new ways of working and living together in a post-industrial, unconventional, and inspiring setting.

BOB is also a place for living and interaction, both for the 80 resident project leaders and for the local residents and users of the area.

Starting in the first quarter of 2026, BOB will welcome everyone’s civic initiatives and will also offer spaces to local associations to meet their needs and support their activities through a multipurpose hall: La Multi.

This third place is part of the L’étape 22D site, which straddles the eastern part of Villeurbanne (Carré de Soie neighborhood) and the southern part of Vaulx-en-Velin. With its 4 hectares of buildings and outdoor spaces, it is one of the major mixed-use transitional urban planning projects in the Lyon Metropolis, where active mobility advocates, emergency shelters, and educational programs come together.
