Climate Chance is an association founded in 2015 with the aim of bringing together and supporting non-state actors, local governments, trade unions, researchers, businesses, and NGOs on climate and environmental issues.
Each year, the association organizes a summit in Africa or Europe. In February 2024, it took place in Liège, supported by the Belgian Presidency of the European Union on the issue of climate change adaptation.
The objectives are to disseminate information, develop a portal highlighting local initiatives, and annually analyze the climate actions of local governments, stakeholders, and businesses. Since 2022, Climate Chance has also been publishing a monthly e-magazine that focuses either on climate adaptation in Europe or on climate actions in Africa. At the same time, they are increasingly participating in European events, primarily on these themes.
Climate Chance has had its offices at the Chapelle Nouvelle project site since its inception (July 2022), where the organization values the opportunity to meet and connect with other community organizations. Noémie describes “a new mindset.” This space has allowed them to become part of a community and to align themselves with a collective that aims to effect change at its own level.
