




From February 2021 to November 2023, this former 10,000-square-meter municipal administrative center hosted more than 230 organizations from the arts, crafts, and nonprofit sectors, as well as the social and solidarity economy. In 2023, in partnership with Cité Caritas, it also housed a 50-bed shelter dedicated to families and single women.
Constantly evolving, Opale was a space for creativity, connection, and solidarity that broke down barriers between the city’s various uses and rebuilt bonds among its residents. This temporary occupation was part of the Est Ensemble initiative, a pioneer in transitional urbanism.
