In the heart of Paris, between Denfert-Rochereau and Port-Royal, the former Saint-Vincent-de-Paul Hospital is a 3.2-hectare site that has gradually fallen into disuse over the years. The City of Paris is committed to an eco-neighborhood project there, with the first construction phases beginning in 2018. It now seeks to repurpose the site in collaboration with the Ile-de-France Public Land Agency, which owned the site until its transfer to SPLA Paris Batignolles Aménagement.
It has engaged Aurore as the overall manager, supported by Plateau Urbain and Yes We Camp. Plateau Urbain handles, on behalf of Aurore, the technical coordination of utility connections and building maintenance, defines their scheduling, and screens applications for the premises. The business model covers the operating costs of the entire site and combines housing for vulnerable individuals with activities that foreshadow the development of the future eco-neighborhood.
