Opened in 2018, PADAF—short for Plateforme des Acteurices de Demain (Absolument Fantastiques!)—hosted more than 100 organizations in a 25,000-square-meter building provided by EPFIF. This extraordinary site, located in the heart of the Antony business park, was one of Europe’s largest temporary occupation projects situated outside a city center. PADAF was an inexhaustible source of expertise and shared resources: painting, sculpture, landscaping, architecture, set design, drawing, film, music, photography, theater, graffiti, carpentry, tapestry, sewing, ceramics, metalwork, cultural engineering, logistics and upcycling, restoration, audiovisual production, and many more!
On the same site, the Aurore association ran an emergency shelter that housed more than 200 asylum seekers. This proximity allowed this mixed-use project to develop multiple partnerships, such as employment-based integration. The shared goal was, by the time the Grand Paris Express project was completed, to bring this space to life in an area undergoing rapid urban transformation and to foster community engagement through diverse initiatives.
