RESIDENT PROFILES – ONE HUNDRED AND NINE

All three are fashion professionals: Mathilde (a former women’s fashion buyer at Galeries Lafayette and a former leather goods merchandiser at Céline), Gautier (a consultant and fashion editor at Vogue USA), and Alexandre (a former director of strategy and sustainable development at ba&sh) are launching their premium secondhand brand, CENT NEUF, in July 2022.

Their approach? To create an eco-friendly brand offering collections based on a rigorous selection of secondhand clothing, and to provide a credible alternative to new items with the goal of raising awareness about the associated social and environmental benefits.

Inspired by major fashion successes of recent years such as Sézane, JACQUEMUS, and AMI PARIS in terms of their business plans, the three partners also have their muses: Jenna Lions, Kate Blanchett, Frank Ocean, and Samantha Jones (SATC). “These are personalities who break the mold without ever compromising on their style. They use their fame to champion a cause.”

It was through word of mouth that CENT NEUF settled at Atlas. “Atlas has mainly provided us with real storage space and a workspace for our products and collections, allowing us to handle and preserve them better. It’s also a gathering place for the team. For a very young brand like ours, needs evolve very quickly, and Atlas offers the flexibility that allows us to grow.”

The team consists of two interns, Marion (Products) and Julie (Communications), and Lexie, a sales associate at their corner at Le Bon Marché.

In addition to working on the new Fall-Winter 2023 collection, CENT NEUF is preparing for the upcoming opening of its new boutique on Rue Notre Dame de Nazareth.
