Our support

Plateau Urbain does more than just provide affordable workspaces. Whether you’re a local government, a developer, a landlord, or a community group, we’ll help you design your transitional and temporary urban planning projects and ensure the successful implementation of your third-place initiatives.

Setup and management of third places

We manage and oversee fixed-term third-place projects from start to finish: leasing, bringing the space up to code, technical and administrative management, programming, event coordination, security, and building maintenance. Since 2013, Plateau Urbain has helped set up and manage approximately 50 third-place projects.

Consulting and Research

We assist local governments, property owners, and community groups in developing their projects related to temporary use, transitional urban planning, and third places. Taking into account the unique characteristics of the sites, ecosystems, and regions under consideration, our support is based on a customized methodology.

Learn about the cooperative

Beyond the services it offers, the cooperative also serves as a resource hub for anyone interested in transitional urbanism—a vibrant hub of ideas and questions surrounding the making of the city. Through its advocacy in the media and research projects such as Commune Mesure and Base Commune, the cooperative aims to serve as a research laboratory exploring how to experience the city and how to make it more welcoming and accessible.
